Stagnant hypoxia is associated with impaired blood flow, which restricts the delivery of oxygen to tissues, and hypemic hypoxia refers to conditions where there is a reduction in the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood—such as due to anemia or carbon monoxide poisoning. Therefore, hypoxic hypoxia specifically relates to low oxygen availability in the surrounding environment.
